Model Sailboat Sunday

This event is weather dependent.

Bring your child (and your childlike wonder) and watch model sailboats race across the lake. Demonstrations are organized by the Chicago Radio Controlled Model Yacht Club, and members are available to answer questions about sailboats, races, and regattas. Visitors are invited to participate and learn about building and operating model sailboats and joining the sailing club.

The fun takes place at the Waterside Terrace on the Esplanade, with spectacular views of the lake and Smith Fountain.

The boats are 39 inches long, 65 inches tall, and weigh 10 pounds each.

This event is free for all visitors. Parking fee applies for nonmembers.
