Malott Japanese Garden Holds Special Sunday Events for Families

Family Sundays provide visitors hands-on activities to develop a deeper appreciation for Japanese gardens and culture.

GLENCOE, IL (May 7, 2014)The Chicago Botanic Garden will offer seven special Elizabeth Hubert Malott Japanese Garden Family Sundays during the summer to help visitors of all ages gain an understanding of Japanese gardens and culture. Fun, family-friendly activities, such as trying chopsticks and practicing calligraphy, will engage visitors and encourage a hands-on exploration of unique aspects of life in Japan. Each Sunday will also feature a different take-home project, such as an origami cup and ball, samurai hat, paper fan or fish print.

Family Sundays will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following days: June 1 and 15, July 6 and 20, August 3, and September 7 and 21, 2014. The programs are free, though parking fees apply to nonmembers. Visit our website for more information:
