Fight the trend and become part of a landmark graduate degree program in Plant Biology & Conservation, providing a dynamic opportunity for students to become tomorrow's leaders in botanical science and plant conservation. Discover valuable new ways that genetic and chemical components of plants can help humanity.

The Chicago Botanic Garden and Northwestern University have combined their strengths to develop a unique graduate program emphasizing plant conservation biology. If you are an energetic, accomplished student interested in training at an elite level in plant biology and conservation, consider applying today. You'll interact with outstanding researchers and faculty at Northwestern University and the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Prominent scientists such as E.O. Wilson have warned that at least 40 percent of the world's flora will become extinct by the end of this century. Become part of the solution and protect the world's threatened flora, using the latest concepts and methods.

For more information or to apply, visit the Graduate Program in Plant Biology and Conservation.

Northwestern students will participate in "One Book One Northwestern" in 2008-09, discussing David Quammen's book The Reluctant Mr. Darwin: An Intimate Portrait of Charles and the Making of His Theory of Evolution. The Garden is a cosponsor of this project. See the website for information about the lectures and activities around the book.
