With 385 acres to explore at the Garden, where do you begin? Enjoy a tram tour for an overview of popular areas. Return each season to experience transformed views. Listen to an informative narration by your guide as you ride through the colorful landscape!

Tours run daily from April through October and last about 35 minutes each. Upon your arrival at the Garden, drop by the Visitor Center, or stop at any ticket location to purchase ticket(s) for your desired departure time. There is no need to make a reservation. Trams are wheelchair accessible. Tour packages are available for groups of 15 or more.

Grand Tram Tour
Get carried away on this 2.3-mile narrated tour! Learn the history and science of the Garden while viewing highlights including the McDonald Woods, Elizabeth Hubert Malott Japanese Garden, the new Learning Campus, and others. Enjoy views alongside the Garden’s 81 acres of water!

Optional stops allow passengers to step off the tram to tour sites including the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Plant Conservation Science Center, Dixon Prairie, Regenstein Center, and the Learning Campus.

Bright Encounters Tour
Enjoy an intimate .8-mile tour of selected gardens from the comfort of a tram. Relax as you explore the Heritage Garden, Krasberg Rose Garden, Waterfall Garden, Buehler Enabling Garden, and many other gardens and special features. See changing displays of annual flowers in spectacular combinations. Learn remarkable facts about the Garden’s science and conservation projects. Uncover the mysteries of this living museum!
