Black Chokeberry

IROQUOIS BEAUTY™ chokeberry is a multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub selected for its unique compact habit, showy display of small white flower clusters, glossy foliage, showy orange to deep-red fall foliage, and abundant production of black fruit. The common name chokeberry refers to the tart taste of the edible fruit to humans; birds have no objection.

This shrub is a Chicagoland Grows® selection. Chicagoland Grows® is a plant introduction partnership of the Chicago Botanic Garden, the Morton Arboretum and the Ornamental Growers Association of Northern Illinois formed to promote plant cultivars that perform well in northern Illinois. This variety was selected from the collection at the Morton Arboretum.
