Astilbe simplicifolia 'Sprite'

Sprite Astilbe

Unlike other astilbes with dissected leaves, 'Sprite' has deeply lobed, rich green foliage. In early summer its pale, silvery-pink flowers are borne in airy clusters above the lustrous green foliage. The entire plant stands about 1 foot tall. The flower spikes fade and dry on the plant and can be left on to grace the winter landscape. This plant, which forms small, spreading clumps, may be used as a border plant, a ground cover, or at the water's edge. Its rich foliage and bright flowers thrive in shady sites.
