This broad-leaved evergreen prefers sun-dappled shade and moist, sandy pH neutral loams. Korean boxwood is very tolerant of shearing and pruning. Avoid cultivating around these plants because they have shallow roots. Since the roots are shallow, the plants will appreciate a thin (1-to 2-inch) layer of mulch.
