Spider Flower
Senorita Rosalita® spider flower (Cleome hassleriana 'Incleosr') produces continuous lavender-pink blooms from June until the first frost. Its maximum size is 5 feet tall by 3 feet wide, with the lower foliage retained even in hot temperatures. It attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Plant in a sunny location in well-drained soils.
Because this is a sterile cultivar of spider flower, it lacks the sticky stem and seedpods of the straight species. So while it may be slightly more attractive to deer (not likely), it will also not reseed in the garden.
