Thornless Cockspur Hawthorn

Thornless cockspur hawthorn has all the attractive features of the species but without the hazardous thorns. In June, the tree is covered with beautiful clusters of white flowers with a strong fragrance, or odor, depending on your opinion. The small oblong leaves are glossy and turn red and orange in fall. It will grow to 30 feet, but we have found it makes a nice barrier hedge with its dense branching and takes well to shearing.
