Tufted Hair Grass

This clump-forming ornamental grass needs partial shade and moderate moisture conditions to reach a height of 3 feet and a width of 2 feet. From July to September it produces seed heads in tones of gold, silver, purple, and green, which are attractive to birds. However, if it is in too much shade, it will not bloom. It is effective when planted in groups or as a specimen in partially shaded areas.
