Heart Attack Sweet William

The dark, almost black red, flowers of Dianthus barbatus ‘Heart Attack’ Sweet William are delightfully fragrant on a perennial to 1’ in height. This cultivar not only prolongs the normal Sweet William flowering season, it is also a true perennial – unlike all other Sweet Williams (biennials). Grow in full sun and avoid placing muclh around the crown (leads to rot). This southern Europe native attracts hummingbirds, butterflies and bees of various species.
