Intermediate Wood Fern

The evergreen wood fern is native to eastern north America and is found naturally as far north as Newfoundland, as far west as Minnesota and Missouri, and south to Georgia.

The evergreen wood fern, also known as the intermediate wood fern, grows to three feet tall and wide with long medium green arching fronds with a lacy appearance. Although it prefers consistently moist soils with high organic content it can manage in clay soils so long as they are well-drained. It is resistant to rabbits. This fern is excellent in woodland, shade and shady native gardens.
