Starry white flowers are produced atop stems to 16" height in early spring before the leaves emerge. This rare Korean native is hardy to USDA zone 4 and prefers moist soils and cool summer temperatures. Grow in full sun in cool northern gardens or partial shade in warmer climates.

The genus name, Mukdenia, celebrates the name of the ancient Mongolian capital city "Mukden", currently known as Shenyang.
