English Shrub Rose
These deeply cupped and quartered pink, apricot, and yellow roses pack about 100 petals into flowers that are 5" across. No wonder they have a tendency to nod under the weight. ABRAHAM DARBY blooms from mid-June to the first hard frost with a fruity, spicy fragrance. This rose comes from David Austin, the English breeder dedicated to combining the shapes and scents of old-fashioned roses with the
repeat bloom, hardiness, and disease resistance of modern roses. Like
all roses, the more sun you give it, the more flowers you'll get in
return. Dark green, glossy leaves are disease resistant, but no rose is disease-proof. Spraying against disease may be a good idea if you
can't give it full sun or it's too crowded for
good air circulation. Remember that roses, particularly repeat bloomers,
are heavy feeders and fertilize in spring and again in mid-summer. Protect against rabbits and deer in the winter.
