Hairy Toad Lily
Tall, arching stems produce white flowers with dark purple spots and stigmas in September and October on this native of moist woodlands in eastern Asia. This plant typically grows on the sides of ravines and streams where the arching stems present the flowers for pollinators flying along the waterways searching for nectar; it requires continually moist yet well-drained soils. Unfortunately, rabbits and deer also find it irresistible.
