Plant Association:

Larvae feed on Musa and Heliconia species. Adults feed on the juices of rotting fruit.

Interesting Fact:

The giant owl wing design is intended to look like the eye of an actual owl to scare potential predators away by convincing them that the butterfly is more dangerous than it really is.
