Register By Mail

Download a registration form and mail your completed form with a check made payable to Chicago Botanic Garden, or with credit card information, to Call Center, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022.

Register in Person

Walk-in registrations are accepted at the Visitor Center Information Desk.

Registration Policies

Refund Policy 
Refund requests must be submitted 48 hours prior to the program’s start date and time to Click here to show mail address or (847) 835-6801. If your call is not answered, please leave a message with the details of your request and a member of the Call Center will respond. Refund requests submitted less than 48 hours prior to a program start date are nontransferable and are not eligible for a refund. 

Cancellation Policy 
Courses canceled by the Garden are refunded automatically.. The Joseph Regenstein, Jr. School of the Chicago Botanic Garden retains full discretion to accept or reject any registration.

Chicago Botanic Garden members pay the lower fee listed for all classes. Become a member and receive a 20 percent discount on most classes and much more.

Register early! To help ensure that the classes you want are not canceled due to low enrollment, register early and encourage your friends to do the same. Preregistration is necessary for all classes. Enrollment is limited for each program.

Parking and Admission Fees

The Chicago Botanic Garden has a per-person admission system. Parking and admission are always free for members. If you are not a member, you may show your class registration confirmation upon arrival at the Gatehouse and the Visitor Center for free parking and admission on class date(s). Unless you require accessible parking, please park in the main parking lots. Plan to arrive with extra time to enter the Garden, park, and arrive at your designated classroom space.

Online Classes

Online class registrations must be received 48 hours prior to the start of the class.

Sold-out Classes

If a class is sold out, please contact us at (847) 835-6801 to be placed on the waitlist. The Garden will contact you if a space becomes available.

Classes with Walks

Walking classes depart from their meeting location promptly, and instructors will sometimes make impromptu adjustments to their planned route to ensure a great class experience for the students in attendance. Please allow ample time to enter the Garden, find parking, and walk to your class meeting location prior to the published start time. Students who miss class due to late arrival will not be issued a refund or credit on file.

Confirmation Notices

Email correspondence will be used to provide students with the most current information for classes. Registration confirmation as well as other information such as maps and supply lists are emailed to the class purchaser. Emails are sent to the address associated with your Garden account.

Contact Information

Please maintain a current email address and phone number under your profile in the Garden’s registration database so we may contact you regarding your classes. You can do this by contacting (847) 835-6801 or by logging into your account.

Refund Policy

Cancellation is subject to a ten percent processing charge. A refund is issued in the form of a credit on file to be used for future programs within one year.

Code of Conduct

Please review the Garden’s Code of Conduct. By registering for this class, you agree to comply with the Code of Conduct to foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all Garden staff, volunteers, members, visitors, instructors, and students.

Emergency Class Cancellations

Whenever the Garden is open to the public, Adult Education classes will run as scheduled. In the event of an emergency cancellation, the Garden will contact registered students with an automated class cancellation notice. Adult Education will attempt to reschedule classes canceled due to an emergency whenever possible.

Winter Weather Statement

The Chicago Botanic Garden welcomes our winter season and will remain open through most snow, ice, and sub-zero temperatures. Adult Education classes will run as scheduled whenever the Garden is open. Students who choose to miss class due to winter weather conditions will not be issued a credit or a refund.

Age Requirement

Adult Education classes are for adults only and cannot accommodate minors under the age of 18, except for the Canoe Adventure program. Get information about Youth Education programs at the Garden.

Photo and Image Use Release

By participating in the class, you agree that during your class, you may be filmed and/or photographed by a Garden employee, contract photographer, or the media. Your attendance at Garden classes serves as permission for the use by the Garden of your image, the image of your creation, or the image of you participating in instructional or social activities with your creations, for marketing and promotional purposes, and you agree to release us from any liability in connection therewith.
