Music Institute of Chicago Academy violinist Lauren Kim, 17,  will present a morning of classical repertoire favorites. Lauren, a former Stradivari Society recipient of a three-quarter-size violin by Giorgio Serafin, Venice, c. 1745,  studies with esteemed violinist Almita Vamos and Injoo Choi. Lauren made her orchestral debut at the age of twelve with the Oistrakh Symphony. Winning many solo competitions, her chamber music ensembles have also gone on to win national medals. She has performed in master classes for legendary violinists Miriam Fried, Midori Goto, Stephen Rose, Sibbi Bernhardsson, Rachel Barton Pine, and Francisco Fullana.

Classical guitarist Brad Conroy, Music Institute of Chicago Guitar Department Chair, will perform classical favorites from a diverse repertoire.   
Brad is a versatile guitarist, performer, and educator who specializes in the art and scholarship of the classical guitar. Brad’s performances begin at the Renaissance and goes through to the 21st century, often including his own compositions, improvisations, and new works which have been dedicated to him. Brad has given concerts across the United States and abroad, with appearances that include Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, the International Guitar Festival in Brno, Czech Republic, Vienna, Austria, Newport Beach, California, and Dublin, Ireland to name a few. His music has been heard on WFMT Chicago, and he has given concerts for the Chicago Historical Society, the Chicago Classical Guitar Society, the Czech Guitar Society, The Schweiker House, as well as a private concert for Caroline Kennedy and her entourage.
