Autumn Palette Red Amaranth

Spikes of cream to light orange are produced from mid-summer through fall atop this tall growing annual with culinary uses. Plant 'Autumn Palette' in full sun and in well-drained soils and avoid heavy fertilization or watering. The flowers mature into seeds that are ground into flour, and feed the songbirds; young leaves can be added to salads and older leaves are often cooked as greens.
