Blue Danube Leichtlin Camass

Deep blue flowers are produced on tall spikes on this cultivar of a Pacific Northwest native. It is adapted to heavy clay soils that stay moist, making it an ideal perennial bulb to add to Chicago-area gardens. Native Americans traditionally roasted the bulbs as a food source.
