From June until the first hard frost, lavender-blue, button-shaped flowers cover Pineapple Sangria Brazilian button flower (Centratherum intermedium 'Pineapple Sangria'). This mounded, nonhardy perennial is from Brazil. Named for foliage that smells like pineapple, it repels deer, but the flowers attract butterflies and other pollinating insects.

Plant Brazilian button flower in a hot, sunny location. Once established, this plant is drought tolerant. By the end of the season, it can reach 2 feet in height and width. During mild winters it can gently reseed near the original plant.
