King Tut® Papyrus

King Tut papryus is a type of sedge that is native to Africa where it grows along stream edges and in boggy areas. King Tut grows to about four or five feet in height and width and is cultivated primarily for the fluffy umbrella like bracts that top the otherwise bare stems. The entire plant is a pleasing bright green that blends well with other plants. King Tut is not hardy in Chicago but can be overwintered in a pot placed in a cool sunny location.
