Dixie Wood Fern

The Dixie wood fern is a rare fern occurring naturally in the the south-eastern US. It has an strong upright appearance with gently arching fronds up to 4 feet. It can form upright clumps of 3 to 4 feet width. Like most ferns it prefers part shade, humus-rich soil and moist conditions.
Because of its height and form the Dixie wood fern is useful as a vertical element in shade gardens and woodland settings.
