White Dyckia Bromeliad
The common name for this plant is white Dyckia because of the silvery white color of its foliage. That's caused by the silvery white scale-like hairs on its leaves. The distinctive way its foliage twists and curls adds to this plant's appeal.
Dyckias are survivors. This one is native to the highlands of central Brazil. It likes full sun, but not hot baking hot sun, which can shrivel the leaf tips. It'll be fine in light shade as well. Water it regularly in spring and summer, but keep it on the dry side in winter, and bring it indoors when temperatures begin to drop in the fall.
