Scarlet Orbit daylily has large brilliant red flowers with a chartreuse throat. The delightfully fragrant blooms are 6 inches across and appear early in the season. In milder climates, the foliage is green all year round. Each flower lasts only one day, but there are multiple buds on each stalk and several stalks on each plant. The buds open in series, so a single plant will continue to bloom for 2 weeks or more. It may re-bloom. It is easy to grow and does well in full sun or partial shade. Scarlet Orbit has been awarded Honorable Mention and the Award of Merit by the American Hemerocallis Society.
