American Alumroot

American Alumroot 'Bressingham Bronze' is a lovely variation of an attractive native plant. At maturity it will be approximately 12 inches tall and 18 inches wide, the flowers, appearing late spring and early summer, are yellow to creamy white. The tall panicles of flowers increase the height to 24 inches and add an interesting lacy effect. The large lobed leaves are deep purple in color and remain richly colored all season long, in sun and in shade. In milder climates the foliage will remain attractive though the winter. It is resistant to deer and will attract bees and birds. Lovely as an accent in containers or in a mixed perennial border. It would also work well as a groundcover in semi-shade areas.
