Discovered in the mountains surrounding Beijing, China, shaggy hydrangea is a sturdy, deciduous shrub with peeling, chestnut-brown bark. It blooms from July to August, producing white flowers that turn pinkish with age. It prefers part shade and can be used in the shrub border or in perennial beds.
