Many Flower Panicle Hydrangea

Floribunda grows 15 feet tall with a spread of 10 feet. The large, conical flowerheads are a mixture of showy but sterile florets and smaller, fertile but non-showy florets. The flowers emerge white, and turn pink as they mature. With new flowers continually emerging at the tip of the cone, the flowerheads are a lovely blend of color from creamy white at the tip of the cone to deepening shades of pink at the base. The color of the flowers is not affected by the pH of the soil. The blooms first appear in July and will continue into the fall. It does well in full sun to light shade and is moderately drought tolerant. It blooms on new wood, so it is not susceptible to late spring frosts. This is a hybrid of Hydrangea paniculata which is native to Japan, China, and Korea, where it grows at altitudes up to 4,000 feet.
