Lilium ‘Mona Lisa’ has gorgeous soft pink flowers with deep rose centers and a speckling of red spots. The blooms are outfacing and fragrant in mid to late summer. The stems stand only 18 to 24 inches high. This is a dwarf oriental hybrid, ideal for containers. As an Oriental hybrid, this lily blooms a little later than the Asiatic lilies. Typically Oriental lilies have a lovely fragrance, although some people find it unpleasant at best. The grace and beauty of this lily makes it a lovely addition to the garden. Lilies love full sun, but will do well in partial shade. They tolerate hot summer days, as long as the bulbs are deep enough to remain cool. Lower plants surrounding the lilies will help protect their roots from drying out. Lilies make an excellent cut flower with long lasting blooms and buds that continue to mature and open after cutting.
