Crimson Bottlebrush

Little John dwarf bottlebrush is a compact cultivar of the crimson or lemon bottlebrush that is native to southeastern Australia. It has an upright form with citrus-scented foliage carried in a rounded mass. The red flower spikes, reminiscent of a bottle brush, are nectar rich and very attractive to hummingbirds and insects. It grows to 3 feet high and 5 feet wide and prefers full sun and average soil moisture. It is fire resistant and can be used in foundation plantings, as a low hedge, or as a special feature. In colder climates it is not hardy and must be brought inside for the winter.
