Baby Moon Jonquil
Narcissus ‘Baby Moon’ is in Division 7. This is a dwarf Narcissus that grows to only 4 to 8 inches high. It blooms in late spring with a sweet fragrance and 3 – 5 flowers on each stem. Both the petals and the corona are yellow. The petals are rounded and overlap only at the base. The bulbs are toxic and will not be eaten by deer or rabbits. It is hardy in zones 4 – 9. The name Narcissus comes from the Greek word for narcotic and is tied to the myth of a young man known as Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection. When he drowned in the pool where he had been admiring himself, Narcissus flowers grew up around the pool.
