W.P. Milner Miniature Daffodil

Narcissus ‘W.P. Milner’ is in Division 1. This is a dwarf cultivar that blooms in early to mid spring. It has 2 ¼ inch flowers which face downward. The petals are broad and white with a small point at the tip. They open pale yellow but become white as they mature. The corona is cylindrical with an expanded mouth. It opens yellow and usually turns white, although it may remain yellow. The bulbs are toxic and will not be eaten by deer or rabbits. The name Narcissus comes from the Greek word for narcotic and is tied to the myth of a young man known as Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection. When he drowned in the pool where he had been admiring himself, Narcissus flowers grew up around the pool.
