Donger Bromeliad

Small blue flowers appear just above water level in the cup on this bromeliad featuring dark maroon leaves with wide pink margins. A sport of the well known 'fireball' bromeliad, it also produces pups on long stems horizontally from the mother plant when it comes into flower. Keep in high light for best leaf color and periodically replace any water in the cup that has evaporated. Fluorinated or chlorinated water can cause leaf burn on some epiphytes like bromeliads.
