Switch Grass
Switchgrass is a native ornamental bunchgrass that is a remnant of the tallgrass prairie. It has a tall, erect habit growing to 6 feet in height and 3 feet in width. The flower heads lend an airy delicate quality to the grass which is most attractive. The seed heads provide winter interest as well food for birds.
It performs best in full sun, and moist conditions but is quite adaptable. Cut back in late winter or early spring.
