Peking Mock Orange

Peking mock orange is a dense compact deciduous shrub that is native to China and Korea. It bears fragrant single creamy white flowers in May to June and grows to about six feet in height and width. While this shrub is adaptable to a range of conditions, it prefers sunny locations and consistently moist soils, and cannot tolerate poor drainage. Plant this shrub where the scented flowers can be appreciated. Because of its dense growth habit it makes a wonderful screen or hedge or backdrop to a sunny border. Prune back after flowering and cut back to the ground if very overgrown.
