Sand Phlox

Sand phlox is a mat-forming perennial with narrow, needle-like leaves, that grows to a height of 6 inches with full sun to partial shade and moderate moisture conditions. It is native to sandy, open woodlands and prairies in the Midwest and to the Ozarks. The blue to white blooms, with five deeply notched petals,attract butterflies in May and June. It is suitable in the front of a border, in a rock garden or used as a ground cover.
