David's Lavender Garden Phlox

David's lavender garden phlox (Phlox paniculata ‘David's Lavender’) is covered with large clusters of fragrant lavender flowers from midsummer through fall on a plant featuring mildew-resistant foliage. Each lavender flower has a small starburst of white at the center. It was found as a sport (mutated sprout) of its award-winning parent 'David' and patented in the year 2005 by ItSaul Plants in Georgia. The flowering height is a little more than 3 feet, and the spread is about 16 inches. Plant this phlox in full sun and in moist, well-drained soil, and avoid excessive fertilization.
