Lavender-pink flowers are borne in large, tiered, terminal clusters in July and August on this chance seedling discovered growing on the banks of the Harpeth River near Nashville, Tennessee. For those interested in planting native species, selections from the wild that receive cultivar status are referred to as 'nativars'. This plant was selected for the clean, green foliage that obviously was very resistant to powdery mildew. Plant it in full sun and in moisture-retentive soil, and prepare for an influx of butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds when this plant comes into flower.
