Apple Blossom Moss Phlox

Phlox subulata ‘Apple Blossom’ is commonly known as a moss phlox or a creeping phlox. It grows only 2 to 6 inches high, forming a dense cushion of dark green foliage. It blooms in mid to late spring with a showy display of light pink flowers that can cascade over a wall. Plant it in full sun. It is resistant to deer and is hardy in zones 3 - 9. The genus name is from the Greek word phlox meaning flame in reference to the many bright colors of some varieties.
