Swiss Mountain Pine
This European native grows at high altitudes and is extremely cold hardy (Zone 2). It is generally grown as a multi-trunked shrub and can range in height from 2’ to 20’. Its light green needles are slight curved and grow in bundles of two. It prefers well-drained, loose soil in full sun or partial shade. It is easily transplanted. Its shape can be manipulated by removing part of the new candles (spring growing shoots) or by selectively pruning out older branches.
