Autumn Higan Cherry

Dainty pink to white semi-double flowers grace this tree in early spring and again in fall. Like other ornamental cherries in the Chicago region, it requires excellent soil drainage and typically begins to decline after 30 years of age. Fall color is yellow, sometimes with peach tints. Other than wood borers, this tree is basically pest free. The name 'Autumnalis' refers to this cultivar's tendancy to rebloom in autumn.
