May Night Sage
Spikes of violet-blue flowers adorn May Night sage (Salvia × sylvestris 'Mainacht') in May, June. and July If deadheaded (the old flowers removed before they set seeds), this upright, hardy sage cultivar has been known to reflower. Plant May Night sage in average garden soil and in full sun, and provide supplemental irrigation in periods of drought. Sage attracts butterflies and hummingbirds, but deer and rabbits find the foliage objectionable.
