Forbes Glory-of-the-Snow

Scilla forbesii is an upright-growing bulb from southwest Turkey flowering in late winter and early spring with blue and white flowers. It reaches a maximum height of one foot under full sun to partial shade and moderate moisture conditions. It has narrow glossy green strap-like leaves. The plant is ideal grown in masses or in a border. It is resistant to deer. This species is often confused in the trade with Scilla lucliae, which is much smaller with fewer flowers per stem.
