Holmstrup Arborvitae
This tree was selected in, and introduced in 1951. It is a slow-growing cultivar that reaches 8’ in the first 10 years, eventually maturing to a dense narrow-pyramid of 10-15 in height’. 'Holmstrup' has attractive rich green scale-like foliage that retains its green color throughout winter. It prefers moist, well-drained loams in full sun to part shade. It is not fussy about soil pH but is intolerant of dry conditions.
