Western Red Cedar
SPRING GROVE® Western Red Cedar is derived from the cedars native to the forests of the Pacific north-west of the US.
This cultivar has been bred for its neat growth form reaching a height of about 25 feet and a width of 8 feet. This tree grows quickly and is adaptable to a range of soil pH and moisture conditions. It is also regarded as being highly deer resistant making it desirable as a hedge or privacy screen. Although pruning is generally not necessary, it can be pruned in late fall. Fertilize in early spring with a specialist slow-release fertilizer for conifers.
