Celebrate the spirit and beauty of the season surrounded by artistic installations from international artists during Lightscape at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Starting November 15 and running on select dates until January 5, 2025, the illuminated trail for enchanting winter nights will set the Garden aglow with light, art, and music.
“Lightscape provides an opportunity to be captivated by immersive experiences while enjoying a festive evening outdoors with friends and family,” said Jodi Zombolo, associate vice president, Visitor Events & Programs. “Lightscape debuted in the U.S. in 2019 at the Garden and is now one of four locations in the U.S. that host Lightscape on an annual basis.”
This year’s all-new path features a fan favorite from the debut year and new ways to celebrate:
- Submergence, from U.K. artist Squidsoup: This large, immersive, walk-through experience with suspended strands of light creates feelings of presence and movement.
- Theme Nights: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday attendees are encouraged to wear festive apparel and accessories. Tuesdays are Glow, Wednesdays are Pajama, and Thursdays are Ugly Sweater.
- 21+ Hours: On Thursday, November 21 and Thursday, December 5, entry is reserved for adults aged 21 and over from 7 to 11 p.m. Specialty cocktails and mocktails will be available for purchase.
Additionally, notable installations like the Winter Cathedral will return to the trail, along with a reimagined version of Singing Trees.
Lightscape is produced in partnership with Sony Music and creatively produced by Culture Creative. Visit chicagobotanic.org/lightscape for more information and to purchase tickets.
