Registration Policies
Register early! To help ensure that the classes you want are not canceled due to low enrollment, register early and encourage your colleagues to do the same. Preregistration is necessary for all classes. Enrollment is limited for each program. Full class payment is due at the time of registration. If a class qualifies for optional graduate credit, that fee must be paid on the first day of the class.
Custom workshops are arranged directly with the manager of teacher and student programs at least one month in advance. Payment is due on the day of the workshop.
Chicago Botanic Garden members pay the lower fee listed for all classes. Become a member and receive a 20 percent discount on most classes and much more.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Courses canceled by the Garden due to hazardous weather conditions or low enrollment will be automatically refunded in full. Programs with insufficient registration will be canceled five to ten business days before the scheduled start date. The Garden reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment.
If you must cancel your custom workshop, please contact the manager of teacher programs directly.
Refund requests must be submitted 48 hours prior to the program’s start date by calling (847) 835-6801. Refund requests submitted less than 48 hours prior to a program start date are nontransferable and are not eligible for a refund.
Credit
All teacher classes qualify for PD hours through ISBE. Please bring your IEIN with you to the class. Credit will be handled through PD+ and directions will be provided at the class.
Classes that include early childhood qualify for Gateways credit. Please bring your Gateways member number with you to receive credit.
Multiday classes typically qualify for optional graduate credit through Dominican University. Credits are an additional $100 per credit hour payable to Dominican University (check or money order) and due the first day of the class. Graduate fees are subject to change. This option includes an additional assignment due no later than two weeks after the class.
Educators are eligible to receive all credit options available for a class. To receive full credit, you must attend each scheduled class session and complete all assigned work.
